HIGH SCHOOL RETREAT

Hey Coaches, it’s time for our High School Retreat, where we get away to connect with God and connect with each other. It’s going to be an incredible retreat, so we want to make sure that you have all that you need to win the weekend.

1. Make sure you’ve reviewed and/or completed the necessary documents below, and remind your Pod to do so as well. You can find the link for these below.

  • Camp Akiva Waiver (Must bring a printed waiver)
  • Valley Creek Waiver (You can sign this electronically)
  • Pre-Work Questions (Bring your answers and be ready to discuss)
  • Packing List

2. Next Gen Safety. A retreat offers unique opportunities to lead with Next Gen Safety in mind. Here are a few guardrails that we believe you should know as we head into the weekend.

  • You do not have to wear or bring your red Students shirt, but please choose modesty when deciding what to wear.
  • Don’t undress in front of a student, use the stalls to change.
  • ALWAYS be with your Pod. You should never be alone with a student, and a student should never be alone. This means if a student forgets something(like their journal) in their cabin, do not send them alone to retreive it. They can go with another student, or two leaders.
  • Doors will be taped at curfew each night and open each morning at 7:00am.

3. Please plan to arrive at the Flower Mound Campus no later than 6pm to help us get on the road in a timely manner.

  • We will be leaving the Flower Mound Campus by 6:30pm in order to arrive at Camp Akiva for check-in time.
  • If for some reason, you or a student in your Pod is unable to make it to the Flower Mound Campus before 6:30pm, please let your Student Director know.

It’s going to be a great weekend, come ready and come expectant to be consumed by the fire of God. See you soon!
